Junior Squash Stars Shine at RICHS Championship

Sindh’s Raheel Victor emerged as a standout performer at the 2nd RICHS National Junior Squash Championship held at the Jahangir Khan Squash Academy, PSB Karachi Centre, where junior players from across Pakistan competed for national honours.

In the Boys Under-11 final PAF’s Anas Rafey recovered after dropping the opening game to defeat Sindh’s M. Bin Naseem 3-1, winning 11-6, 11-8 and 11-7 after an initial 8-11 set. The match underlined the depth of emerging talent in Pakistan’s Junior Squash ranks.

The Boys Under-15 title was captured by Raheel Victor of Sindh with a commanding 3-0 victory over second seed Mamoon Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Raheel closed out the final 11-9, 11-0 and 12-10, showcasing tactical poise and strong shot-making.

Top-seeded Vaishnavi continued Sindh’s success by claiming the Girls Under-15 crown, defeating fellow Sindh player Aiman Fatima in straight games 11-7, 11-2 and 11-4 to lift the trophy.

The PSA Satellite Men’s title went to top seed Anas Shah, who beat Sindh’s Saeed Abdul 3-0 with scores of 11-8, 12-10 and 11-5 to take the championship crown and top honours in the professional event.

The junior championship distributed a total prize fund of Rs. 600,000 among winners and runners-up, while the PSA Satellite event awarded prize money totaling US$1,000 to the winner, runner-up and other leading performers. Organizing Secretary Naveed Rehman said the competition produced exciting finals across all categories and highlighted rising standards in Junior Squash nationally.

PSB Karachi Centre Director Ali Raza attended the closing ceremony as chief guest and handed out prizes alongside Sindh Squash Association President Adnan Asad. Also present were Sindh Squash Association Secretary Naveed Rehman, KP Squash Association Secretary Mansoor Zaman, Muhammad Naseem and other officials who celebrated the athletes’ performances. A group photograph captured Ali Raza, Adnan Asad, Naveed Rehman, Mansoor Zaman, Muhammad Naseem and the champions at the closing ceremony.
