Pakistan Russia Reaffirm Trade and Energy Cooperation
Pakistan and Russia reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in trade, energy, agriculture and education during the webinar Pakistan Russia: Strengthening Cooperation in Trade, Education and Energy.
The event brought together senior government officials, diplomats, business executives, scientists and public policy experts from both countries to discuss practical ways to expand bilateral cooperation and create new opportunities for economic engagement.
Key reports were presented by Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Legari, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexei Gruzdev, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Russian Federation Faisal Niaz Tirmizi and Boris Burmistrov, Deputy Director of the Second Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Participants discussed developing bilateral trade through better logistics and transport connectivity, strengthening ties between business communities, expanding cooperation in the energy sector, creating sustainable mutual computation mechanisms, promoting academic exchanges and learning Russian, and building long-term institutional partnerships.
Addressing the event, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi noted the positive developments in Pakistan Russia relations and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to stronger trade ties, investment attraction and initiatives aimed at promoting mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
He stressed the importance of humanitarian contacts and said student exchanges form the basis of sustainable and long-term bilateral relations. He also highlighted the link between tourism and trade, saying that further simplification of visa procedures would support tourism, strengthen business ties and open new opportunities for economic cooperation between the two countries.
Concluding his remarks, Ambassador Tirmizi said the Embassy of Pakistan in Moscow is committed to working closely with Russian government institutions, the business community, academia and other stakeholders to deepen economic cooperation and turn the growing political understanding between Pakistan and Russia into concrete commercial results for both peoples.
