Thailand and NRTC Strengthen Defence Ties

Haripur, 6 July 2026: H.E. Mr. Rongvudhi Virabutr, Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan, accompanied by Col. Nikhom Chumpoo, Defence and Military Attaché, visited the National Radio Telecommunication Cooperation (NRTC) in Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the visit, they met with Brigadier Azmat Shabbir, Managing Director, along with other NRTC executives. The discussions focused on transfer of technology and technical capacity-building through trainings, joint research and development to address modern security challenges, and the development and upgrading of Thailand’s telecommunication equipment with NRTC’s technology.

The Ambassador and Defence Attaché were also briefed on NRTC’s missions and given a tour of its manufacturing and testing facilities. The visit reflected NRTC’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Thailand.

NRTC is a federal government organisation under the Ministry of Defense Production, founded in 1966 to develop communication equipment and security technologies for the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, both within and outside Pakistan.
