National CERT Begins Summer Internship Programme 2026 After Highly Competitive Selection
National CERT Pakistan has announced the start of its Summer Internship Programme 2026, bringing together some of the country’s most promising young talent to support Pakistan’s national cybersecurity mission.
According to National CERT, the programme received an overwhelming response, with approximately 50,000 applications submitted by students and graduates from across Pakistan. After a rigorous, merit-based selection process, only around 1 per cent of applicants were selected, making it one of the most competitive internship programmes in the country.
The selected interns will receive hands-on exposure to national-level cybersecurity work. Their areas of engagement include cyber defence, threat intelligence, digital forensics, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), security operations, research and development, cyber policy, and capacity building.
The interns will work alongside experts at National CERT and contribute to projects aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s cyber resilience.
National CERT said it remains committed to developing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals by offering meaningful learning opportunities, practical experience, and mentorship. The organisation said the initiative is part of efforts to help build a secure and digitally resilient Pakistan.
National CERT congratulated the selected interns and expressed appreciation to all applicants for their enthusiasm and interest in serving the country through cybersecurity.
The programme reflects National CERT’s focus on building Pakistan’s future cyber workforce.
