Daanish IT Park to Help Young Tech Talent Build Pakistan’s Digital Future: PDA Chief

Islamabad, October 14, 2026: Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA) Chairperson Dr Sohail Munir has called upon the country’s youth to make full use of the Daanish IT Park, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on October 10, 2026.

Dr Munir said the project has given Pakistan’s technology sector an important landmark in the federal capital and would provide young people working in information technology with the support needed to advance in their fields.

He said the park would enable youth to play a central role in increasing Pakistan’s IT and software exports. According to him, Daanish IT Park shows that a developer working from a small city has a place in the national economy and offers the country’s IT exports a platform from where they can expand.

Describing the initiative as a significant move towards strengthening Pakistan’s digital ecosystem, Dr Munir credited the Prime Minister and Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Ms Shaza Fatima Khawaja for supporting the project and ensuring its completion.

The park brings incubation centres, innovation hubs, startups and industry leaders together under one roof. Its stated objective is to equip young people with skills in IT and artificial intelligence, support new ideas and help Pakistan compete in the global digital economy.

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr Munir said Digital Nation Pakistan is the Prime Minister’s signature initiative, while Daanish IT Park is the place where that vision has taken physical shape. He said the project is also part of how the initiative is guided from planning to delivery.

Addressing young people directly, he said: “To the young Pakistanis writing code in Gilgit, Gwadar or Gujranwala, this is your address. Come and build here.”

Dr Munir said the real test of Daanish IT Park would be the companies that begin their journey inside it and the exports that move out from it. He added that Pakistan’s technology ambitions now have more space to grow, showing that the country is ready to support its own talent and the new generation of startups it will produce.

The Pakistan Digital Authority is a statutory body established under the Digital Nation Pakistan Act, 2025. It is mandated to lead Pakistan’s transition into a digital nation by building secure and interoperable Digital Public Infrastructure, setting national standards for digital governance, data, AI regulation and citizen experience, and coordinating digital transformation across federal and provincial jurisdictions. PDA also drives public sector innovation and aims to deliver simple, trusted and seamless digital services for all Pakistanis.
