inDrive, Tech Valley roll out Digital Safar for drivers’ children in Pakistan

Islamabad, October 14, 2026: inDrive, a global mobility and urban services platform, has joined hands with Tech Valley, a Google for Education Premier Partner, to launch Digital Safar, a free online programme aimed at promoting digital safety and artificial intelligence literacy among children of inDrive drivers in Pakistan.

The three-week initiative will benefit 300 students from grades 6 to 10 through live online classes conducted in Urdu. An in-person orientation session for participating families is scheduled to be held in Islamabad on October 17. Classes will begin on October 19 and continue until November 9, 2026.

Awais Saeed, Country Lead of inDrive Pakistan, said the company wanted to support drivers who work hard to secure a better future for their children.

“Through Digital Safar, we want to support that aspiration by giving their children the skills to navigate the digital world safely, learn with confidence and make the most of new opportunities. We believe every child deserves the chance to be prepared for the future, regardless of their circumstances,” he said.

Umar Farooq, Founder and CEO of Tech Valley, said every child should have the opportunity to become digitally literate, safe and AI-ready.

“Digital Safar is one of Tech Valley’s flagship programmes bringing Google’s digital-safety and AI curriculum straight to the children of inDrive’s driver families in Pakistan, building on a model already trusted by hundreds of thousands of learners across Pakistan. To me, this partnership enables real skills, real reach and real accountability,” he said.

Saba Kalsoom, Head of AI Strategy and Operations at Tech Valley, said the programme had been designed to ensure children could apply what they learned in their online lives.

“They will know how to spot a fake message, protect their accounts, and use Gemini as a learning partner instead of a shortcut. Our facilitators teach live, in Urdu, and every family is involved from the first day,” she said.

Digital Safar is based on Google’s “Be Internet Awesome” and “Gemini Academy” learning tracks. The programme brings together digital citizenship, online safety and responsible use of artificial intelligence through interactive learning, group discussions and practical activities.

Under the “Be Internet Awesome” track, meant for students in grades 6 to 8, participants will learn practical digital-safety skills. Through games, group discussions and hands-on activities, they will be trained to share information responsibly, recognise fake and phishing messages, and secure their online accounts. Their final task will require them to distinguish genuine messages from fake ones and create a strong password they can remember.

The “Gemini Academy” track, designed for students in grades 8 to 10, will introduce participants to the use of Gemini as a learning partner, while encouraging them to critically assess the information it provides. Students will learn to compare AI-generated responses with guidance from parents and teachers, consider when AI advice can be trusted, and develop their own digital identities.

As a final project, students in this track will create a personal Digital Citizenship Booklet using Gemini. The booklet will include safety rules, online habits and slogans written in their own words.

According to the companies, Digital Safar is an early step in inDrive’s plans to expand STEM education opportunities for children of its drivers and local communities in Pakistan. Through initiatives focused on digital skills and technological literacy, inDrive aims to make learning opportunities more accessible to young people.

The company said the effort reflects its mission to challenge injustice and its commitment to fair choice, extending its work beyond mobility to help the next generation acquire skills needed for an increasingly digital future.
