Islamabad Police Arrest Suspect in University Student Iman’s Murder After High-Profile Investigation
Fugitive Behind Iman’s Murder Caught After Use of CCTV and Forensic Tools

Islamabad: In a significant breakthrough, Islamabad Police have arrested the primary suspect involved in the murder of 22-year-old Iman, a student at the International Islamic University. The announcement was made during a press conference held by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Islamabad Police, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, at the Rescue 15 center. Senior police officials including the SSP Investigations, SP Industrial Area, and DSP CIA were also present.
DIG Tariq revealed that the suspect, identified as Feroze, a resident of Jhang, had gone into hiding following the crime. The accused had unlawfully entered Kainat Girls Hostel with criminal intent and fatally shot the victim. The incident had initially been classified as a blind murder case, but swift action and collaborative efforts by various police teams led to a successful arrest.
According to police, teams under the supervision of the SSP Operations and SSP Investigations employed both advanced technology and human intelligence to track the suspect. Investigators obtained a detailed sketch of the suspect, reviewed surveillance footage from the crime scene and surrounding buildings, and analyzed Safe City Islamabad camera recordings. This meticulous work enabled them to trace and apprehend the fugitive.
Authorities further disclosed that Feroze has a criminal history, with prior charges related to sexual assault and motorcycle theft. His name had previously appeared in police charge sheets for these crimes.
DIG Islamabad affirmed that a formal case has been registered against the accused and further interrogation is underway. He emphasized that the suspect will be prosecuted with strong evidence and that police will ensure he faces the full force of the law through a court of competent jurisdiction.
