Pakistan Diplomatic Strength Praised During Senate Session

Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts have garnered widespread praise from the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, which lauded the Foreign Office for its exemplary performance amid recent regional tensions. The committee highlighted that Pakistan’s consistent and principled diplomatic narrative has successfully resonated on the international stage, particularly in the context of the India-Pakistan conflict and attacks on Iran.
In a high-level, in-camera session at Parliament House, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, chair of the committee, commended the Foreign Office’s leadership under Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar. He emphasized the crucial role played by the Foreign Office in articulating Pakistan’s position during two consecutive regional crises, noting that the nation’s steady narrative has helped shape global perceptions positively. The senator also acknowledged the significant contributions of committee members Senator Sherry Rehman and Senator Musadik Malik, who, as part of a parliamentary delegation led by former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, effectively communicated Pakistan’s stance to the international community during this critical period.
The committee was briefed by Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch and senior officials from the Foreign Office on Pakistan’s diplomatic response to recent attacks on Iran. The officials shared insights into ongoing efforts aimed at regional stability and outlined strategic plans for future diplomatic engagement, emphasizing Pakistan’s role in fostering peace within a complex geopolitical landscape.
Addressing queries from committee members, Foreign Secretary Baloch reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to regional peace, underscoring the country’s proactive role in collaboration with other nations to establish lasting stability. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to peaceful resolutions and regional cooperation.
Chairman Siddiqui further expressed confidence in Pakistan’s diplomatic approach, stating, “India’s isolation at various international forums is a defeat in itself, and our narrative is a victory.” He credited Pakistan’s principled stance and dynamic diplomacy for reshaping international perceptions and reinforcing the country’s strategic position.
The meeting was attended by notable senators including Sherry Rehman, Anwarul Haq Kakar, Musadik Malik, Zeeshan Khanzada, and Barrister Syed Ali Zafar. The Foreign Office was represented by Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch and other senior officials, who collectively reviewed Pakistan’s diplomatic posture amid regional challenges and reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to peace and stability.
