Ambassador-designate to Zimbabwe Muhammad Amjad Aziz Qazi visited the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) to explore potential avenues for enhancing bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and Zimbabwe. The discussions centered around strengthening cooperation in sectors critical for economic growth, including textiles, pharmaceuticals, sports and leather goods, agriculture and food items, and tourism.
During the visit, Ambassador-designate Muhammad Amjad Aziz Qazi met with RCCI Acting President Khalid Farooqi Qazi. RCCI executive members Rehmanullah Khan and Ayad Afzal Sheikh also participated in the meeting, exchanging insights on ways to deepen economic ties and facilitate Pakistani businesses in tapping into Zimbabwean markets.
The meeting emphasized Pakistan’s strong capability in textile production, pharmaceutical manufacturing, sports goods, and leather industry. These sectors were highlighted as having significant export potential and marketability in Zimbabwe, creating room for collaborative partnerships between businesses of the two countries.
Participants also identified agriculture and food-processing as promising areas for cooperation, acknowledging Zimbabwe’s agricultural needs and Pakistan’s expertise in agri-food production. Additionally, both sides expressed keen interest in expanding cooperation in tourism, recognizing the importance of cultural exchange and increased business visits to benefit both economies.
The delegation underscored the importance of ongoing engagement to ensure sustained trade and economic links between Pakistan and Zimbabwe. The RCCI leadership affirmed their commitment to facilitating connections, providing guidance, and supporting efforts to strengthen bilateral relationships and foster business opportunities.
