Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage & Culture visits Quaid’s Mausoleum, commends QMMB’s preservation efforts and emphasizes nationwide expansion of cultural events.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, Ms. Farah Naz Akbar, visited the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, paying respects to Pakistan’s founding father. She was warmly received by Resident Engineer QMMB, Abdul Aleem Sheikh, along with senior officials from the Quaid-e-Azam Mazar Management Board (QMMB) and the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture.

During her visit, Ms. Akbar toured various sections of the mausoleum, offering prayers and laying floral wreaths at the gravesites of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Fatima Jinnah, and other national leaders, expressing profound tribute to their invaluable contribution to the nation.

She inspected the museum housing the personal belongings of Quaid-e-Azam and admired QMMB’s role in carefully preserving these historical artifacts. Ms. Akbar was later briefed regarding ongoing initiatives and management practices employed by the Quaid-e-Azam Mazar Management Board and Quaid-e-Azam Academy.

Highlighting the importance of infrastructural improvements, the Parliamentary Secretary directed relevant authorities to expedite the planned measures for protecting the boundary walls of the mausoleum. She also extended full support for QMMB’s initiative to install a 50-megawatt solar power project at the site.

Further applauding Quaid-e-Azam Academy for regularly organizing interactive events, such as poetry recitals, seminars, art competitions, essay writing contests, and quizzes celebrating Quaid-e-Azam’s life and legacy, Ms. Akbar expressed concern that these activities were limited only to Karachi. She thus instructed concerned authorities to formulate comprehensive plans aimed at broadening the scope of such cultural and educational programs to other cities across Pakistan.
