FIA Anti Corruption Circle Arrests Two for Illegal Hirings

Islamabad’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle has arrested two senior officials on charges of illegal recruitment and abuse of power within the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC). The accused, Ghulam Muhammad Ali, former PARC Chairman, and Ikhlaq Malik, former Director of Establishment at PARC, are alleged to have orchestrated unauthorized hiring practices during their tenure.

According to the FIA spokesperson, both officials were detained for their involvement in recruiting 332 individuals for 164 approved positions at the organization, in clear violation of established procedures. The FIA has launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter, indicating that raids are underway to apprehend other officers and staff implicated in the case.

Following their arrests, the suspects will be presented before the court to secure physical remand, as authorities continue their efforts to uncover the full scope of the alleged misconduct within PARC. The FIA reaffirmed its commitment to combating corruption and ensuring accountability in public institutions.
