Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Strengthen Urban Collaboration in Islamabad

**CDA Chairman, Saudi Ambassador Discuss Deepening Pak-Saudi Ties, Urban Development, and Investment in Islamabad**

Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, held a high-level meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Nawaf bin Said Ahmed Al-Malki, at CDA Headquarters to discuss enhanced bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on urban development, the Faisal Mosque, and investment opportunities in the hospitality sector.

During the meeting, which was described as cordial and constructive, both parties reaffirmed the longstanding and brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Chairman Randhawa welcomed Ambassador Al-Malki and highlighted the strong historical ties based on shared faith, mutual respect, and friendship. He reiterated the CDA’s commitment to further strengthening its partnership with Saudi Arabia, particularly in cultural and urban development initiatives.

One of the key topics discussed was the prospective signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the management and enhancement of Faisal Mosque, an iconic symbol of Islamabad. The Chairman expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s continued support and emphasized Islamabad’s readiness to welcome initiatives and investments from the Kingdom.

Ambassador Al-Malki commended the CDA’s leadership under Muhammad Ali Randhawa, praising ongoing development projects that have transformed Islamabad’s urban landscape and horticultural standards. He noted an observable improvement in the city’s quality of life and lauded the creation of a state-of-the-art nursery, positioning Islamabad as a horticultural hub.

The discussion also covered preparations for the upcoming Saudi National Day, with Chairman Randhawa pledging full support to facilitate the celebration, including arrangements in collaboration with relevant authorities.

Emphasizing the desire for deeper bilateral engagement, Ambassador Al-Malki reiterated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting economic, cultural, and religious ties with Pakistan. Both sides explored collaboration opportunities within Islamabad’s hotel industry, with the Ambassador announcing that leading Saudi hotel investors are already planning visits to Pakistan to assess potential projects.

Chairman Randhawa affirmed Pakistan’s deep respect and high regard for its relationship with Saudi Arabia, assuring the Ambassador of Islamabad’s openness to Saudi investments and cultural exchanges. He described hosting such partnerships as a privilege for the city.

The meeting concluded with a mutual vow to further enhance Pak-Saudi relations through joint efforts focused on urban, economic, cultural, and religious development.
