He described Morocco’s National Day as a testament to the country’s rich heritage and ongoing progress, and commended Morocco’s achievements in sustainable development, regional cooperation, and governance.
Reflecting on the enduring relationship between the two countries, Mr. Hussain noted that diplomatic ties, first established in 1958, have evolved into a strong partnership based on mutual respect and shared values. Turning to economic and sectoral ties, the Minister stressed the need to broaden cooperation, particularly in textiles, agriculture, leather, pharmaceuticals, and information technology. He observed that bilateral trade remains well below its potential and called for renewed efforts to explore new opportunities. He praised Morocco’s commitment to interfaith harmony and cultural dialogue, noting that such values mirror Pakistan’s own vision of peace and coexistence. He further recognized Morocco’s successes in renewable energy and advocated collaboration on climate change adaptation and green technologies.
The Minister expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Moroccan Embassy in Islamabad, led by Ambassador H.E. Mohammed Karmoune, in nurturing bilateral relations. He emphasized the vast potential in the partnership and urged both countries to work more closely for their mutual benefit.
