LUMS Hosts Refugees Learning Program under SIRA Project

The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) recently hosted a three-day Refugee Protection Training under the World Bank-supported SIRA Project. The event marked the second cohort of the Refugees Learning Program (RLP), with a focus on improving the ability of officials to protect and support Afghan refugees in Pakistan.

The training was organized in collaboration with the Chief Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees (CCAR), the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON). Participants included staff from both the national and provincial CAR offices, who engaged in sessions aimed at enhancing their skills in refugee protection and service delivery.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to ensure effective support and critical services for Afghan refugees residing in Pakistan. The program reflects a commitment to building institutional capacity and strengthening the overall framework for refugee assistance and protection in the country.
