Evaluating Modi 3.0 One Year Later at ISSI Round Table

The Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) convened a comprehensive roundtable discussion to assess the performance of the Indian government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term. The gathering brought together senior diplomats, policy practitioners, think tank experts, and academics, who raised concerns about India’s domestic governance and foreign policy, describing them as being on a declining path and marked by increasing risks.

During the discussions, participants highlighted growing uncertainty in the region and encouraged Pakistan to remain vigilant in light of potential instability in its relationship with India. Emphasis was placed on the need for Pakistan to prepare for challenges that might arise both bilaterally and within the broader regional context.

Speakers also stressed the importance of pursuing legal measures to protect Pakistan’s interests under the Indus Waters Treaty. Furthermore, they recommended that Pakistan engage in proactive diplomacy to safeguard and potentially expand its diplomatic standing internationally.
