Multan Advance to Final in Pepsi National PD T20 Cricket

Multan have advanced to the final of the Pepsi National PD T20 Cricket Championship after securing a convincing seven-wicket win over Lahore in Karachi. This victory marks Multan’s third consecutive triumph of the tournament, ensuring their spot in the championship final, where they will face the winner of the next semifinal.

The tournament, which is organized by the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association (PPDCA), continued at the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA) Ground and featured two competitive matches. In the first match of the day, Lahore set a target of 124 runs, scoring 123 for six in their 20 overs. Notable performances came from Shahid Wattoo with 33 runs, Ateeq Jutt with 31, and Muhammad Anees who added 18. Multan’s Jehanzaib Tiwana led the bowling attack, taking two wickets for 29 runs, while Asif Khicchi and Muhammad Asif claimed one wicket each.

Chasing the target, Multan reached 124 for three wickets in just 17.2 overs. Muhammad Zaman Ali delivered a standout performance, smashing an aggressive 60 runs, including six fours and two sixes. He was well supported by Matloob Qureshi, who contributed 31 runs, and Jehanzaib Tiwana, who scored 17. For Lahore, Muhammad Bilal took two wickets and Muhammad Arsalan secured one. Muhammad Zaman Ali was named Player of the Match and received his award from RLCA Zone 2 President Muhammad Jamil.

In the day’s second match, Karachi posted a total of 138 for nine wickets, with Arifeen Arshad top-scoring at 54 off 40 balls, hitting two fours and four sixes. Supporting contributions came from Nooruddin Sheikh with 22 and Kamran Khan with 14. For Quetta, Mithal Khan was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets for 22 runs while Ali Gachizai claimed two, and Nazimuddin, Muhammad Irfan, and Nusratullah took a wicket each. Quetta’s chase ended at 129 for seven after their 20 overs, with Saifullah scoring a solid 54, Nusratullah adding 23, and Amir Habib 22. Karachi’s bowlers Kamran Khan and Ishaq Junior picked up two wickets apiece, and Malik Sher and Ali Askar took one each. Arifeen Arshad of Karachi was awarded Player of the Match by former first-class cricketer Zafar Ahmed.

The matches attracted several notable personalities, including PPDCA President Imran Balwani, Secretary General and Event Director Amiruddin Ansari, Head Coach Sabih Azhar, Quetta Region Head Aslam Badich, Lahore–Sialkot Region Head Javed Ashraf, and PPDCA founder and director Muhammad Nizam. The games were officiated by umpires Waseemuddin and Muhammad Rehan, with Shakeel Sajjad serving as match referee.

The next phase of the Pepsi National PD T20 Cricket Championship will take place in Islamabad.
