Swat –The security situation in Swat remains stable and under control, according to the District Police Officer (DPO) Umar Khan Gandapur, who assured residents and tourists that there is no cause for concern about safety in the region. In an interview at his office in Gulkada, DPO Gandapur highlighted that significant measures have been taken to maintain peace and ensure strict security across Swat.
A substantial deployment of police personnel has been put in place throughout the district, especially in the mountainous and sensitive areas such as Gwalirai and Dabsar. DPO Gandapur stated that the police force is fully equipped and prepared to respond promptly to any incidents that may arise.
Regular search and intelligence-based operations are ongoing in various parts of the valley. These proactive measures, the DPO explained, are aimed at ensuring lasting peace and stability for both residents and visitors. He emphasized that he is personally monitoring the situation to maintain tight security oversight throughout the region.
Addressing concerns about tourism, DPO Gandapur reassured the public that all popular tourist destinations in Swat are safe and protected by rigorous security arrangements. He encouraged tourists from across the country to visit Swat and enjoy the region without any apprehension.
In addition, the DPO called on local residents to support the authorities by staying vigilant in their communities. He urged anyone who observes suspicious activity or persons to promptly report them to the nearest police station, underlining that community cooperation is vital to preserving peace and security in Swat.
