Ethiopia Embassy Leads Plantation Drive in Lahore

Ethiopian Ambassador Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula launched a plantation drive in Lahore as part of the “Plant Fraternity” initiative, aiming to strengthen environmental cooperation and foster closer ties between Ethiopia and Pakistan.
The plantation drive was organized by the Parks and Horticulture Authority of Lahore, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad. The “Plant Fraternity” initiative, introduced by Ethiopia, seeks to promote fraternity and partnership between nations through joint efforts in environmental conservation.
The event was attended by Bilal Yasin, Minister for Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering of Punjab, who served as the chief guest. A high-level delegation from Ethiopia was present, alongside Pakistani government officials, climate experts, youth representatives, members of the media, and civil society.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Dr. Jemal presented the Green Legacy Award to Minister Bilal Yasin, recognizing his contributions to strengthening bilateral relations and his dedication to environmental initiatives. The plantation drive reflects both countries’ shared commitment to sustainability and collaboration for a greener future.
