WUM Biotechnology Scholar Successfully Defends MPhil Thesis
MARDAN: The Department of Biotechnology at Women University Mardan (WUM) successfully conducted the MPhil thesis defence of Ms Kainat Arzoo in the field of Environmental Toxicology.
The research was supervised by Dr Rakhshinda Sadiq. Ms Arzoo defended her thesis titled “Mycological Analysis of Dry Fruits Sold in Markets of Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.”
According to the university, the study highlights the importance of identifying fungal contamination in commercially available dry fruits to improve food safety, quality control and storage practices, besides reducing spoilage and economic losses.
The research findings were presented before Dr Mohsin Jamal of the Department of Biotechnology, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM), who served as external examiner. Dr Hina Jabeen, Head of the Department of Biotechnology at WUM, faculty members and university officials were also present.
The thesis defence provided an academic platform for evaluating the scholar’s research findings and contributions in the field of Environmental Toxicology.
The Department of Biotechnology appreciated the continued support of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Razia Sultana, the Directorate of Academics, Directorate of Examinations, ASRB and WUM administration in promoting academic and research excellence.
The university congratulated Ms Kainat Arzoo and her supervisor, Dr Rakhshinda Sadiq, on the academic achievement and wished the scholar success in her future academic and professional endeavours.
