Gilani greets nation as Rabi-ul-Awwal begins
ISLAMABAD, Aug 15, 2026: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has felicitated the Muslim Ummah, especially the people of Pakistan, on the beginning of the sacred month of Rabi-ul-Awwal.
In his message, the Chairman Senate said the blessed month carried immense significance as it was linked with the birth of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), whose life and teachings remain an everlasting message of mercy, peace, love, tolerance and brotherhood for humanity.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said the Seerat-e-Tayyaba of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) offered complete guidance for every sphere of life. He said it taught the values of justice, equality, compassion, patience, tolerance and respect for the rights of others.
He called upon the nation to renew its pledge to follow the noble teachings and exemplary life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and to work for the promotion of peace, harmony and brotherhood in society.
The Chairman Senate also urged the people to remember the poor, needy and vulnerable sections of society and to share their happiness with them during the blessed month.
He paid tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the security, sovereignty and defence of Pakistan. He prayed for the elevation of their ranks and for patience for their families.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani prayed that Allah Almighty bless Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah with peace, prosperity, unity and stability, protect the country from all challenges, and grant everyone the strength to sincerely follow the Seerat and noble example of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
