Pakistan UN Mission Observes Silence for Kashmir Solidarity

The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York and the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations observed a one-minute silence to mark Youm-e-Istehsal, reaffirming Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The event aimed to draw attention to the ongoing hardships faced by Kashmiris, especially following India’s revocation of the region’s special status.
During the gathering, Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai delivered a statement strongly criticizing India’s actions in Jammu and Kashmir. He condemned the abrogation of the region’s special status and highlighted ongoing violations of international law and human rights by Indian authorities. Atozai reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
The observance was intended as a powerful reminder of the unresolved situation in Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to keep the issue at the forefront of international discussions. Both missions called for increased global attention to the region’s human rights challenges and stressed the importance of accountability and justice for those affected by the conflict.
