Punjab Boards Move to E Marking for Computer Science
The Inter Boards Coordination Commission convened Controllers of Examinations and IT officials from all Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education across Punjab to discuss the Government of Punjab initiative to introduce e-marking for Computer Science examinations. The move toward a digital assessment system aims to strengthen transparency, accuracy, efficiency, and timely result processing for board exams.
The meeting was chaired by Director General IBCC Mr Muhammad Usman Khan and included input from Dr. Bashir Khan, Director IT at the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad. Participants focused on operational planning, technical readiness, and inter-board coordination to ensure a consistent and effective rollout of e-marking across Punjab.
Discussion emphasized the need for reliable technical infrastructure, staff training, and standardized protocols so that the e-marking system can deliver faster and more accurate outcomes. Ensuring interoperability between board systems and clear timelines for implementation were raised as essential steps in the planning process.
The session concluded with remarks by Executive Director IBCC Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, who stressed digital readiness and greater technology integration across all Boards as vital to modernizing the examination system. He noted that e-marking would support standardization and help uphold the integrity of assessment processes.
IBCC reiterated its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote modernization, standardization, and technological advancement in the examination system, with the goal of improving result turnaround and maintaining consistent marking standards for Computer Science exams throughout Punjab.
