Launch of Bachpan Bemisaal Special Episodes
Karachi marked World Childrens Day with the launch of the UNICEF and Pakkay Dost special episodes of Bachpan Bemisaal, a series centred on early childhood development, play, nutrition and care. The event brought together creators, child advocates and families to highlight why quality early years programming matters for Pakistani children.
The launch was hosted by Sanam Saeed and featured an engaging conversation between series creator Bilal Maqsood and UNICEFs ECD Manager Dr. Saba Shuja, who discussed the creative journey behind Bachpan Bemisaal and the series focus on practical support for caregivers. Attendees viewed new clips and songs from the series that underline simple, culturally relevant ways to boost learning and wellbeing at home.
Children and parents responded with warmth and laughter, sharing immediate reactions that reflected the series intent to connect with families across Sindh and beyond. The first episode of Bachpan Bemisaal is now live on the Pakkay Dost YouTube channel and promises accessible guidance for parents and communities seeking to strengthen early childhood experiences.
Voices of local children were central to the programme, as child speakers from Sindh offered thoughtful reflections on what every child needs to learn, grow and thrive. Moderated by MPAs Nida Khuhro and Qasim Soomro, these conversations reinforced the role of play, nutrition and nurturing care in laying the foundation for lifelong development in Pakistan.
