Gender Data Training Advances Justice in Quetta

UN Women, in collaboration with the German Embassy in Pakistan, recently organized a comprehensive “Gender Data Training for Inclusive and Responsive Planning” in Quetta. The training, conducted under the Gender Parity Project, aimed to strengthen the capacity of various stakeholders to use gender-disaggregated data for more equitable and effective decision-making within the justice sector.

Held at Serena Hotel Quetta, the initiative brought together key representatives from diverse sectors, including the Police, Judiciary, Women Development Department (WDD), Levies, Planning & Development (P&D), Prosecution, Prisons, and civil society organizations (CSOs). Among the distinguished participants was Mr. Jan Muhammad Gohar, Registrar of the Balochistan High Court.

By focusing on the collection and analysis of gender data, the training sought to equip participants with tools and knowledge necessary to foster gender-responsive policies and practices. This aligns with broader efforts to advance gender parity and inclusivity in the justice system, ultimately benefiting marginalized and underrepresented groups across Balochistan.

The program also provided an opportunity for collaborative dialogue among stakeholders, encouraging the integration of gender perspectives in planning, resource allocation, and policy implementation. Through such initiatives, UN Women and its partners continue to support Pakistan’s commitment to gender equality and equitable access to justice.
