The federal government has appointed Muhammad Amir Malik as the new Member (International Coordination) at the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, the Establishment Division has confirmed. The Prime Minister has approved the appointment on the MP‑I scale, the top tier of the Management Pay Scales.

Malik will serve on a three‑year contract starting from the date he assumes charge, in line with the MP Scales Policy, 2020. In his role as head of International Coordination, he will lead Pakistan’s engagement with global technology companies, international digital platforms, multilateral institutions and development partners to expand cooperation across emerging technologies.

His portfolio includes advancing ICT infrastructure development, strengthening cybersecurity measures, promoting digital trade, facilitating foreign investment in the tech ecosystem, and building human capital partnerships. Through focused International Coordination, Malik will prioritise cross‑border innovation and bilateral and multilateral digital collaboration to help local firms access new markets.
