Prophet Muhammad 1500th Year Celebrations in Pakistan

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has announced nationwide celebrations marking the 1500th blessed year since the birth of Prophet Muhammad, during the Islamic year 1447 Hijri. The observance, titled “Ashra Rehmat-ul-Lil-Alameen,” will take place from the 1st to the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, and feature a comprehensive series of events aimed at honoring the Prophet’s legacy.

A key highlight of the celebrations will be the 50th International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference in Islamabad. The event is expected to draw government officials, religious scholars, diplomats, and distinguished guests from both Pakistan and abroad. This year’s conference will focus on “State Responsibilities in Educating and Training for the Positive Use of Social Media – In the Light of the Teachings of the Holy Prophet.”

The minister outlined a broad program that includes Seerat conferences, Naat gatherings, seminars, and competitions for students across the country. Educational institutions at all levels, including schools, colleges, and universities, will participate in these activities. Additionally, a national Quran and Seerat exhibition is planned, alongside a grand Naat gathering on the night of 11th Rabi-ul-Awwal.

To ensure nationwide coordination, the religious affairs ministry has distributed the program to all provincial governments, as well as authorities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Each region has nominated focal persons to oversee local activities. Reports, photographs, and videos from these events will be collected and compiled into a comprehensive national report.

The minister called on the public to take active part in the celebrations, foster peace, unity, and tolerance, and extend support to those in need, particularly communities impacted by recent flooding.
