Pakistan Calls for Action on Palestine Two-State Solution

**Pakistan Urges Immediate Action for Gaza Ceasefire and Two-State Solution at High-Level UN Conference**

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, delivered a strong call for urgent international intervention to end the ongoing violence in Gaza and advance the two-state solution for Palestine at a high-level international conference in New York. The conference, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, brought together global leaders to address the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian question and the effective implementation of the two-state solution.

In his address, Senator Dar commended the leadership of the conference co-chairs and acknowledged the contributions of the eight working groups involved in the event. He reiterated Pakistan’s active commitment to achieving meaningful and constructive outcomes from the session.

Highlighting the grave situation in Gaza, Dar unequivocally condemned what he described as Israel’s “continued aggression” in the territory, characterizing it as a violation of international law and humanitarian principles. He called for urgent international action, emphasizing the need for an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire. He further underlined the importance of guaranteeing unhindered humanitarian access, supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), ensuring accountability for war crimes, and revitalizing a genuine political process towards a two-state solution.

Senator Dar urged the international community to support full United Nations membership and universal recognition for the State of Palestine. He stressed that the conference must produce tangible commitments reaffirming the centrality of a two-state solution. Dar called for Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza, support for the reconstruction of the territory in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2735 and the OIC-Arab Plan, and a firm rejection of forced displacement, demographic changes, settlement expansion, and annexation.

Welcoming France’s recent decision to recognize the State of Palestine, Senator Dar encouraged other countries to follow suit. He also expressed Pakistan’s readiness to provide technical assistance, capacity building, and support for both the Arab-OIC Plan and any international protection mechanisms designed to aid the Palestinian people.

Pakistan’s emphatic participation at the conference underscores its longstanding support for the Palestinian cause and its call for immediate, actionable steps by the international community to end the conflict and work towards a lasting peace.
