IIUI Selection Board Advances Academic Appointments
The International Islamic University Islamabad convened its 104th Selection Board over two days to review and deliberate on a slate of academic appointments and related matters affecting multiple faculties. The IIUI Selection Board meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, with Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President (Research and Enterprise), serving as Secretary of the Board.
Members of the board included senior judicial and academic figures who contributed to thorough deliberations, among them Honourable Justice Syed Muhammad Anwar of the Federal Shariat Court, Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza of Fatima Jinnah Women University, Prof. Dr. Sadia Nadeem from FAST School of Management, Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmed of Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Inayatullah Khan, nominee from HEC and Vice Chancellor of UET Taxila.
Deliberations concentrated on cases from the Faculty of Usuluddin, the Faculty of Sciences, and the Faculty of Social Sciences, where the IIUI Selection Board evaluated candidates and procedures to ensure selections aligned with institutional standards. The university leadership underscored implementation of a new strategic plan aimed at strengthening academic excellence and institutional efficiency.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed reiterated that clearing the backlog of pending selection boards is a top priority and made clear that all decisions will be guided by transparency and merit. The message emphasized a commitment to fair, merit-based appointments as part of broader reforms across the university.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed acknowledged the coordination efforts that ensured a smooth meeting, specifically praising Prof. Dr. Rahmat Ellahi, Director QAD, and Mr. Ateeq ur Rehman Chughtai, Director HR. Appreciation was also extended to the Deans, faculty representatives, and teams from QAD, HR, Meeting Section, and Protocol & Public Relations for their support during the proceedings.
The IIUI Selection Board’s decisions from this session are expected to move forward promptly under the university’s renewed focus on transparent processes and academic quality, reflecting Islamabad’s ongoing efforts to strengthen higher education governance.
