Deepening Aerospace Security Ties with Nepal
The Centre for Aerospace & Security Studies (CASS) in Islamabad hosted a delegation from the Army Command and Staff College, Nepal on 20 January 2026, focusing on the growing significance of the aerial domain in contemporary and future conflicts and the need to deepen cooperation between Pakistan and Nepal on aerospace security.
Air Marshal (Retd.) Javaid Ahmed, President of CASS, welcomed the delegation and highlighted the depth of Pakistan–Nepal relations, noting longstanding cordial ties and collaboration across multiple sectors. He underlined cooperative links between the two armed forces through regular exchanges, professional collaboration and sustained institutional engagement, and pointed to constructive interaction within the SAARC framework in pursuit of shared regional objectives.
Delegates attended presentations detailing conclusions from CASS research and the salient features of future aerospace developments. The session included a wide-ranging question and answer segment that concentrated on contemporary warfare, aerospace security, the implications of emerging technologies and evolving regional dynamics.
Discussion also addressed practical modalities for future cooperation between the Staff College and CASS, reinforcing the role of CASS as an independent think tank that continues to engage national and international academia and practitioners on national security in its broader context. The visit is expected to strengthen institutional linkages and information exchange on air domain challenges and capacity development.
