Boosting Pakistan Palestine Relations Through Parliament
The Pakistan – Palestine Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) held its inaugural briefing session in Islamabad today under the convenership of Ammar Ahmad Khan Leghari, MNA, with a detailed presentation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting underscored the group’s intent to strengthen Pakistan Palestine relations through focused parliamentary diplomacy.
Present at the session were MNAs Ahmad Atteeq Anwer, Khurram Munawar Manj, Romina Khurshid Alam and Saba Sadiq, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Pakistani Ambassador to Jordan participated virtually and contributed to discussions on bilateral coordination and diplomatic outreach.
Officials and parliamentarians reviewed the current status of Pakistan Palestine relations, explored avenues for enhanced parliamentary cooperation, and discussed Pakistan’s stance on Palestine-related matters at the International Court of Justice. The session also prioritized media engagement and public diplomacy as tools to sustain attention and support for the Palestinian cause.
Members of the PFG offered prayers for the people of Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir and reaffirmed their determination to raise their voices more strongly against the violence attributed to the Israeli and Indian governments. A Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative shared positive news with Senator Mushtaq regarding recent developments involving the Israeli government.
The inaugural meeting signalled the group’s commitment to intensify parliamentary coordination and public outreach to advocate for Palestinian rights and to advance Pakistan Palestine relations, with follow-up briefings and continued engagement planned as the PFG moves forward.
