One World Squash Launch Sparks New Opportunities
Jahangir Khan formally opened the One World Squash foundation at K2 Squash in Philadelphia, marking a major step to grow the sport in the United States and create new pathways for international talent. The ribbon cutting signalled a fresh commitment to nurturing players at all levels through coaching, competition and community support.
The inauguration was followed by an exhibition match under the Legends National Squash League banner, staged to promote the sport and inspire young athletes. Organizers said the event was designed to raise visibility for squash and encourage aspiring players, including those from the Pakistani diaspora, to pursue higher standards and international exposure.
As president of the new foundation, Jahangir Khan outlined the organisation’s mission to support people who come to the USA and those dedicated to improving their squash. He explained that the foundation will provide a platform for skill development, career progression and access to professional competition, strengthening ties between local clubs and international circuits.
The foundation announced a $15,000 Men’s and $6,000 Women’s Professional Squash Championship to be held in March 2026 at K2 Squash, offering valuable ranking and prize opportunities for competitors. This commitment to staging international events in Philadelphia is expected to benefit players from Pakistan and other countries seeking tournament exposure in the United States.
During the ceremony Jahangir Khan acknowledged the efforts of owner Karamat Ullah for his role in bringing the foundation to life, and the event concluded with a celebratory cake cutting led by Karamat Ullah alongside Jahangir Khan and Coach Naveed Alam. Organisers said the One World Squash initiative will work to expand access, coaching and competitive chances across communities in the US and abroad.
