ePakistan Vision 2035 for a One Trillion Dollar Economy

Pakistan has launched a comprehensive initiative named “ePakistan” under its broader “Uraan-e-Pakistan” strategy, aiming to transform the country into a knowledge-driven, technologically advanced, and innovative economy worth USD 1 trillion by 2035.
The vision emphasizes transparency, institutional accountability, and capacity-building, foregrounding science, technology, and engineering as central pillars for national progress. In line with this ambitious agenda, the ePakistan initiative focuses on six core priorities: developing advanced digital infrastructure, strengthening the startup ecosystem and funding channels, promoting skills training, freelancing, and capacity-building, formulating a national Artificial Intelligence (AI) framework, ensuring robust cyber security preparedness, and fostering inclusive science and engineering opportunities for all.
To effectively implement this vision, an important meeting was held under the leadership of Federal Minister for Planning, Professor Ahsan Iqbal. During the meeting, participants reviewed progress on the Science, Technology and Engineering for Development Project. Dr. Najeebullah Marwat presented a comprehensive roadmap detailing crucial reforms, including upgrading Pakistan’s education system to match international standards, encouraging innovation in business and technology, and aligning national projects with global best practices and trends.
The session was attended by senior government officials, including Secretary Planning Owais Manzoor Samra, Vice Chancellor PIDE Dr. Nadeem Javed, and other concerned stakeholders. Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal emphasized continuous collaboration with experts from the IT and education sectors to develop integrated and practical policies responding effectively to evolving requirements and global developments.
