Zohaib Khan Makes History as Pakistan’s First ASOCIO Vice Chairman

Muhammad Zohaib Khan, a leading figure in Pakistan’s IT industry and former chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), has been elected vice chairman of the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO), marking a significant milestone for the country’s technology sector.

The election makes Khan the first Pakistani to become vice chairman and board member of ASOCIO in Pakistan’s more than 25-year engagement with the organisation. He is also a Pride of Pakistan awardee.

ASOCIO is a major regional ICT federation representing national technology associations from around 26 economies across Asia and Oceania. The organisation works to promote cross-border cooperation, digital policy dialogue and industry development, while serving as an important link for technology markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

Commenting on his election, Khan said it was a proud moment for Pakistan and its IT industry. He said ASOCIO, by bringing together 26 economies across the Asia-Pacific, provides an important platform for regional technology collaboration.

Khan said his focus would be on strengthening Pakistan’s presence in the ASOCIO ecosystem, developing international partnerships and creating wider opportunities for Pakistani IT companies and professionals in global markets.

Khan has previously played an active role in Pakistan’s technology sector and led P@SHA through a period of major growth. His leadership at ASOCIO is expected to help accelerate Pakistan’s software export growth, support international joint ventures and further enhance the country’s position as an emerging regional technology hub.
