India Sindoor Operation and the Call for Justice

Leaders of the Maarka-e-Haq Forum in Islamabad have strongly condemned India’s recent military actions, labeling Operation Sindoor as “state terrorism” and vowing to seek accountability for the bloodshed. Speaking at a press conference at the Islamabad National Press Club, Forum President Sharjeel Mir and General Secretary Chaudhry Yasir criticized India’s assault as a shameful chapter in history and called for international action.

Sharjeel Mir recounted the events of May 7, describing the attack as a tragic day that targeted religious seminaries and civilian areas with drone strikes, resulting in the loss of innocent lives. He expressed deep sorrow for the victims and emphasized that, despite the passage of several months, the sacrifices of the martyrs remain fresh in the community’s memory. Mir thanked God for granting patience to the people and for protecting them from further harm, but highlighted a subsequent test of their resolve that occurred days later.

Addressing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly, Mir stated that the people of Pakistan are peaceful but will not allow the blood of their martyrs to go in vain. He revealed that the Forum had planned a peaceful protest with the families of victims in front of the Indian Embassy, but authorities prevented them from doing so despite assurances that the demonstration would be non-violent. Mir questioned why this peaceful call for justice was suppressed, stating that this concern is shared by many Pakistanis.

General Secretary Chaudhry Yasir added that nations that forget their martyrs are erased from history. He shared that women and children had lit candles and laid flowers at memorials for the martyrs, pledging to continue their struggle. Yasir emphasized that the Forum will advocate for the rights of the bereaved families, women, and children.

Yasir accused India of launching attacks on Pakistani urban areas based on false allegations, such as the Pelgham incident, destroying homes and infrastructure. He condemned these actions as violations of the Geneva Conventions and pledged to file cases in international courts.

Specifically, Yasir stated that India had violated Articles 51, 6, and 7 of the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit targeting civilians and provide for the prosecution of war crimes in international courts. He asserted that the Forum would expose India in the International Court of Justice, the United Nations Human Rights Commission, and organizations like Amnesty International, presenting Modi as an international terrorist.

Concluding the press conference, Sharjeel Mir and Chaudhry Yasir announced their intention to pursue both legal and political campaigns against India at national and international levels. They committed to representing the victims’ families at global forums and unveiling what they described as India’s violent actions to the world. Mir stressed that their peaceful struggle would continue until international bodies officially recognize India as a state sponsor of terrorism, declaring that their movement will persist with full force as long as Operation Sindoor continues.
