Pakistan Iran Historic Visit Strengthens Bilateral Ties

The Iranian delegation has expressed deep appreciation to the government and people of Pakistan for their warm hospitality during a recent high-level visit, describing the event as a significant milestone in the bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries. The visit, which involved several senior Iranian officials, reinforced the longstanding historical, cultural, and strategic ties shared by Pakistan and Iran and saw the signing of multiple agreements aimed at further strengthening cooperation across key sectors.

The delegation conveyed particular gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari for their exceptional roles in hosting the Iranian representatives and creating what were described as memorable and historic moments. They commended Field Marshal Asim Munir for his distinguished presence and valuable contributions to the success of the meetings.

Recognition was also extended to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, along with his team at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for their professionalism and dedicated efforts in organizing the visit. The Iranian delegation appreciated former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for their warm hospitality during the group’s stay in Lahore.

The statement highlighted the contributions of several Pakistani ministers, including Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Jam Kamal Khan, Abdul Aleem Khan, Muhammad Reza Hayat Hiraj, and Attaullah Tarar, in advancing bilateral relations and playing key roles in finalizing twelve important memoranda of understanding.

Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in fields such as trade, infrastructure, and culture. The visit was marked as the dawn of a new chapter in Iran-Pakistan relations, with a shared goal to elevate bilateral trade to ten billion dollars. The Iranian Embassy in Pakistan has pledged to work actively with its counterparts to achieve this common vision, further strengthening the enduring friendship between the two nations.
