UN Agencies Launch Campaign Against Digital Violence

United Nations agencies and the Sindh Government joined forces today under a shared UNiTE commitment to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls. UNFPA Pakistan, UNHCR Pakistan, UNICEF Pakistan, UN Women Pakistan and IOM Pakistan, together with United Nations Pakistan, announced coordinated action to confront digital violence and strengthen protections for women and girls online.

The coalition emphasised that addressing digital violence requires combined efforts across government, humanitarian agencies and community partners. By pooling expertise and resources, the partners aim to raise awareness of online harms, build capacities to prevent abuse and ensure survivors receive timely support. The initiative places particular focus on the Sindh context while contributing to broader national efforts to tackle digital violence.

Officials noted that the UNiTE approach will promote safer online spaces through public messaging, technical guidance and collaboration with local stakeholders. The joint announcement highlights a commitment to sustained engagement so that women and girls can access the internet and digital services without fear of harassment, exploitation or abuse.

The partnership underlines how coordinated UN action alongside provincial authorities can amplify prevention and response to digital violence and help protect the digital rights of women and girls across Sindh and beyond.
