PMDC Launches Digital Inspector Training Drive

The Pakistan Medical & Dental Council completed final preparations for a nationwide digital inspector training program during a planning meeting at PM&DC headquarters ahead of the three-day pilot running from 9 to 11 December 2025. The exercise is a core element of the Council’s modernization push to digitalize inspections and improve accreditation standards for medical and dental colleges across Pakistan.

Chaired by the President of PM&DC, the session brought together 12 Master Trainers who reviewed the training framework, logistics and implementation strategy for the pilot. Participants worked through the digital inspection workflow and the allocation of facilitators, while confirming the list of participating institutions that will take part in the initial roll-out.

The program aims to boost the competency and preparedness of master inspectors who will then train field inspectors to conduct fully digitalized inspections. Training materials prepared for the course include a comprehensive Inspector Guide and the digital platform that will be used for evidence collection, reporting and analysis during visits to colleges.

During discussions, stakeholders stressed the need to equip inspectors with updated digital tools and standardized methodologies so inspections remain credible, efficient and evidence based. Emphasis was placed on standardization of procedures to ensure transparency and consistency across evaluations and to strengthen the overall accreditation system.

The meeting also finalised compliance requirements, documentation protocols and assessment tools that will underpin the training, signaling PM&DC’s commitment to a quality-first approach to accreditation. By embedding digital inspector training into its processes, the Council expects more reliable, timely and transparent assessments of medical and dental education in Pakistan.
