**National Skills University Faculty Shines Globally with STEM Training at King’s College London**

The National Skills University Islamabad (NSU) has further solidified its position as a globally recognized institution, following the successful completion of a prestigious STEM Faculty Development Programme by two of its faculty members at King’s College London. This achievement highlights NSU’s commitment to world-class education and its growing influence in skills-based training on an international scale.

NSU, recognized as both a UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre and a European Training Foundation Centre of Vocational Excellence, continues to demonstrate academic excellence through participation in global programs. The recent accomplishment by Dr. Maryam Subhani of the Department of General Studies and Ms. Anita Bibi of the Department of Health Sciences and Technology, who completed an intensive faculty development programme in the UK, is a testament to the university’s ongoing pursuit of innovation and professional growth.

The STEM Faculty Development Programme was conducted as part of the broader Pak-UK Education Gateway Project—a collaborative initiative between the British Council and Pakistan’s National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE/HEC). The programme included training sessions at leading UK institutions, such as the National STEM Learning Centre at the University of York, the University of Birmingham, and King’s College London.

The faculty members participated in advanced sessions on modern teaching frameworks, including the Conceiving, Designing, Implementing, and Operating (CDIO) methodology and the responsible integration of generative artificial intelligence in education. They also explored innovative assessment practices utilizing real-time student feedback, curriculum reforms based on outcome-based education principles, and critical topics like gender equity and sustainability in STEM fields.

Beyond individual professional development, the programme encouraged academic exchange and research collaboration between Pakistani and UK universities, thereby enhancing the international impact of Pakistani higher education.

Founding Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar praised the faculty’s achievement, noting, “This success is not only a personal milestone for Dr. Subhani and Ms. Bibi, but a testament to NSU’s evolving academic ethos. As an internationally recognized institution, we aim to embed global best practices into our educational DNA and strengthen Pakistan’s future workforce through world-class faculty.”

Under Dr. Mukhtar’s visionary leadership, NSU has transformed from a national institution into a globally acknowledged hub for vocational and technical excellence. The university’s achievements in securing international affiliations and advancing inclusive STEM education reflect its ongoing commitment to raising the profile of Pakistan’s education sector on the world stage.

This latest accomplishment affirms NSU’s dedication to nurturing globally competent faculty, enriching student learning experiences, and promoting Pakistan as a leader in international higher education.
