PRA Pakistan Forms Election Committee to Oversee Upcoming Elections
PRA Pakistan has announced the formation of a new election committee to oversee preparations for the organization’s upcoming elections. The committee will consist of Tariq Mahmood Sameer, Ijaz Ahmed, and Nasir Naqvi. Additionally, Director General Media of the National Assembly Zafar Sultan Khan and Senate Director of Media Asad Marwat will be a part of this committee.
The decision was made during the final meeting of PRA Pakistan’s current governing body, which was held under the chairmanship of President Usman Khan at the PRA Pakistan body office in Parliament House. Secretary Naveed Akbar presented the session’s agenda and sought approval for the formation of the five-member election committee, which was unanimously granted. The meeting also approved the official list of members who have paid their annual fees.
It was unanimously agreed that the current governing body will be dissolved at the end of its term, and all organizational matters will be handed over to the election committee. President Usman Khan expressed his gratitude to the office-bearers for their exemplary cooperation and highlighted the significant progress made during their two-year tenure. He acknowledged the initiatives taken to facilitate members and thanked everyone who supported the organization throughout this period.
Secretary Naveed Akbar presented a detailed report of the two-year performance and expressed satisfaction with the outgoing body’s achievements. The meeting decided that after the elections, PRA Pakistan would award a cash honorarium of ten thousand rupees each to National Assembly and Senate employees Mohammad Farhan and Waheed for their services.
Finance Secretary Asghar Chaudhry received final approval for the list of members who have paid their fees, and it was unanimously decided that the election committee would not have the authority to alter any matters settled during the meeting. Only members who have paid their annual fees by the deadline will be eligible to participate and vote in the elections.
The meeting concluded with special acknowledgments for Director General Media Zafar Sultan Khan, his team, the Senate Chairman’s Media Advisor Mian Khurram Rasool, and their team for their outstanding cooperation with media representatives. Outgoing office-bearers were also presented with commemorative photo souvenirs.
