Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment at SCO CFMs Meeting

**Pakistan Reiterates Commitment to Regional Cooperation at SCO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in China**
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, participated in a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFMs) held in Tianjin, China, where he reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to advancing the principles of the “Shanghai Spirit” and fostering regional cooperation.
In his address, Senator Dar emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to promoting regional connectivity, shared prosperity, sustainable development, and lasting peace among SCO member states. He highlighted the need for collective initiatives to unlock the region’s full potential and ensure the well-being of all its people.
The Foreign Minister stressed the significance of respecting international law, calling for the earnest implementation of relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions as a pathway to resolving longstanding disputes in the region. He further called on member states to avoid confrontational politics and double standards, urging a cooperative and principled approach to addressing regional challenges.
Senator Dar also reiterated Pakistan’s desire to maintain peaceful relations with all its neighboring countries, emphasizing constructive engagement as a foundation for stability and progress in the broader region.
Additionally, he welcomed Belarus as the newest member of the SCO, extending Pakistan’s support as the organization continues to expand and strengthen its role on the international stage.
