Senator Shahzad Waseem Hosts Japanese Ambassador Reception

Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem hosted a reception at his Islamabad residence in honor of Akamatsu Schuichi, the Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, underscoring the strong and evolving relationship between the two countries.

During the event, Senator Waseem praised Ambassador Akamatsu for his dynamic approach since assuming his role, noting the ambassador’s active public engagement and support for key initiatives, such as infrastructure development and human resource advancement. The senator described the recent Pakistan–Japan Human Resources Stakeholders Meeting as a notable milestone, highlighting its role in facilitating talent exchange and workforce collaboration between the two nations.

Senator Waseem also reflected on the broader Pakistan–Japan partnership, describing it as both historic and progressive, grounded in mutual respect and shared democratic ideals. He acknowledged Japan’s long-standing support for Pakistan in important sectors, including infrastructure, education, and disaster preparedness.

In his remarks, Ambassador Akamatsu expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to deepening ties with Pakistan.
