International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference Focuses on Positive Use of Social Media

The 50th International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference will be held with full honor during the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, announced Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf while presiding over a preparation meeting in Islamabad. The conference is considered highly significant for educating the younger generation about Islamic teachings and the life of Prophet Muhammad.
Sardar Muhammad Yousaf emphasized the importance of this milestone event, noting that the Ministry of Religious Affairs is privileged to organize the 50th edition of the conference this year. The minister highlighted that, in recognition of the 1500th year since the Prophet’s birth, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has dedicated this Islamic year to the theme “Prophet of Mercy.” In conjunction with this, the Ministry has planned events and gatherings under the “Ashra Rehmat-ul-lil Alameen” at provincial and private levels across the country.
This year, the conference will focus on the “Role of the State in the Education and Training for Positive Use of Social Media in Light of Seerat-un-Nabi.” Competitions for scholarly articles on this topic were announced months ago, with prizes to be awarded to authors of outstanding works on the life of the Prophet and related poetry. The best selected articles will be compiled into a book for policy-makers and to further educate the youth.
The minister assured that the Ministry will continue to support and encourage scholars of Seerat. The upcoming conference is expected to draw prominent religious figures and scholars from both within Pakistan and abroad. The preparation meeting in Islamabad was also attended by Federal Secretary for Religious Affairs Dr. Syed Ata ur Rehman, Additional Secretary Dr. Sajid Mahmood Chauhan, and other senior officials.
