Monsoon 2025 Tree Plantation Drive in Upper Swat Forest

A large-scale tree plantation campaign is underway in the Swatu Kalay area of Upper Swat Forest Division under the BTASP project as part of the upcoming monsoon season’s efforts. Covering an area of 25 hectares in the moist temperate zone, this initiative aims to restore Swat’s natural beauty while addressing environmental challenges.

The plantation focuses on indigenous species such as deodar, kail, walnut, and oak (Quercus), selected for their ecological benefits and suitability to the region. The project is seen as a significant move toward revitalizing the area’s lush forests and is expected to serve as a natural shield against the adverse effects of climate change.
