Pepsi National PD T20 Cricket Championship Highlights Historic Low Score

Quetta and Multan dominated the second day of the Pepsi National Physical Disability (PD) T20 Cricket Championship, with Quetta selecting a historic win over Lahore by bowling them out for just 51 runs— the lowest total in the history of Pakistan’s disabled cricket. Meanwhile, Multan edged out Karachi with a thrilling five-wicket victory, marking their second consecutive win in the tournament.

The event, organized by the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association (PPDCA) at the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy in Karachi, saw attendance from several key cricket officials, including PPDCA President Imran Balwani, Secretary General Amiruddin Ansari, Head Coach Sabih Azhar, and other regional heads.

In the opening match, Karachi set a target of 124 runs, with Umar Farooq leading the batting with 57 runs off 35 balls. Despite the strong start, they were bowled out thanks to Multan’s impressive bowling, particularly Muhammad Irfan who took four wickets for 28 runs. Multan’s run chase wobbled early, losing three wickets for 34, but steady contributions from Majid Hussain (38), Jahanzeb Tiwana (28), Zubair Saleem (23), and Muhammad Shehzad (21) secured the victory. Zubair Saleem was named Player of the Match.

The day’s second match was one-sided, as Quetta overpowered Lahore. Lahore struggled with the bat and were dismissed for only 51 runs; Atiq-ur-Rehman was the top scorer with 11. For Quetta, Muhammad Mithal shone with four wickets for 19 runs, while Ali Bakhsh took three wickets for just six runs. In response, Quetta chased the meager target in just 5.2 overs, losing a single wicket, with Saifullah scoring 22 and Jumman Shah 18. Muhammad Mithal was awarded Player of the Match.

The matches were officiated by Waseemuddin and Muhammad Rehan, with Shakeel Sajjad as the match referee. The tournament continues with Lahore set to face Multan and Quetta taking on Karachi in upcoming fixtures.

At the awards ceremony, Secretary General Amiruddin Ansari presented the Player of the Match trophy to Multan’s Zubair Saleem, with national disabled cricket team Head Coach Sabih Azhar and other officials in attendance.
