Empowering Rural Women Leadership Across Pakistan

The Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia to Pakistan participated in the 18th Conference on Training of Rural Women Leaders organized by the Potohar Development and Advocacy Organization (PODA), attending a gathering of more than 500 rural women representing 96 cities across Pakistan.

Women diplomats accredited in Pakistan joined the sessions to exchange comparative experiences and review best practices aimed at strengthening Rural Women Leadership. Discussions focused on how proven approaches can enhance women’s participation in public life and contribute to sustainable development at the local level.

The Tunisian delegation engaged with Pakistani civil society leaders and rural participants to identify practical ways to support leadership training, capacity building and civic engagement for rural women. Emphasis was placed on adapting successful models to Pakistan’s local contexts to ensure longer term impact for women in rural communities.

The conference underlined the value of international cooperation in advancing Rural Women Leadership, as diplomats and community representatives shared insights that can inform future programmes and partnerships to broaden women’s roles in public and development spheres across Pakistan.
