The U.S. Consulate in Peshawar recently hosted a gathering to welcome back alumni from several prestigious U.S. government exchange programs, including the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program, the Study of U.S. Institutes (SUSI), and the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (UGRAD). The event focused on how these returning scholars are utilizing their international experiences to shape their future careers, contribute to their local communities, and strengthen ties between Pakistan and the United States.

Public Affairs Officer Rob Tate led the session, engaging the alumni in a discussion about the positive impacts of these exchange programs. Alumni shared insights on how their experiences in the United States have provided them with new skills, broadened their perspectives, and inspired initiatives that benefit their peers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Participants also explored additional academic and professional opportunities available to Pakistani youth, with a special emphasis on the Fulbright scholarship program, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary of fostering educational exchanges in Pakistan. The session highlighted the importance of such initiatives in empowering young people and promoting mutual understanding between nations.

The U.S. Consulate encouraged young people to stay updated on future opportunities and announced that more information on scholarships and exchange programs would be provided through its official channels.
