Pakistan and Turkiye Boost ICT Cooperation for Youth

Turkish Ambassador Irfan Naziroglu met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in information and communications technology, digital transformation and innovation. The talks covered joint initiatives through the IT Business Council, collaboration on a proposed Technology Park in Pakistan, and the launch of internship and fellowship exchange programs aimed at creating opportunities for young professionals.
During the meeting, both sides explored ways to strengthen the IT Business Council’s role in facilitating private- and public-sector collaboration and investment between Pakistan and Turkiye. Officials discussed practical steps to advance the Technology Park project, including technical cooperation, knowledge transfer and potential joint ventures to support the park’s development.
They also agreed on the importance of people-to-people exchanges and workforce development. Proposals for internship placements and fellowship exchange programs were highlighted as mechanisms to build skills, expose young professionals to international best practices and foster long-term professional networks.
Minister Khawaja reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the Prime Minister’s Digital Nation vision, stressing that strategic partnerships with Turkiye can accelerate digital transformation, promote innovation and expand employment prospects for the country’s youth. Ambassador Naziroglu affirmed Turkiye’s readiness to work closely with Pakistan on expanding digital linkages, sharing expertise and launching joint projects aimed at creating a more connected, future-ready economy.
The Ministry of IT and Telecommunication said it will continue to pursue international partnerships in ICT to ensure Pakistan’s digital sector remains competitive in the global market.
