NOOR AI Assistant Launch Empowers Disability Inclusion in Pakistan

**Pakistan Launches First AI Chatbot Dedicated to Disability Inclusion**
In a significant move towards promoting disability inclusion, Pakistan has launched NOOR AI Assistant, the country’s first artificial intelligence chatbot focused on addressing the needs of persons with disabilities. The innovative tool aims to provide immediate and accessible information regarding disability-related services, rights, and opportunities, marking a new chapter in utilizing technology for social empowerment.
NOOR AI Assistant has been developed under the Community Policing and Terrorism Prevention (CPTP) Program, funded by the European Union in Pakistan. The initiative is supported by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and implemented in collaboration with the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and the Special Talent Exchange Program (STEP). The official launch took place at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), where stakeholders gathered to celebrate this advancement.
The AI-powered chatbot is designed to bridge informational gaps, ensuring that individuals with disabilities can readily access guidance on their legal rights, available support services, and a broad range of opportunities. By employing user-friendly technology, the NOOR AI Assistant is expected to empower users, encouraging greater participation in community and economic life.
The launch event was attended by representatives from partner organizations, supporters, and members of the disability community, who were acknowledged for their contributions and collaboration. The initiative underscores Pakistan’s commitment to building a more inclusive and accessible society, aligning with global efforts to ensure equal rights and opportunities for all individuals.
