Pakistan Diplomacy Unlocks Iran US Dialogue

In Islamabad, the National Assembly speaker hailed Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States, calling the development a landmark diplomatic achievement that ended a nearly five-decade-long deadlock and opened new prospects for regional peace.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq told legislators that Pakistan diplomacy and sustained engagement were instrumental in creating the conditions for talks between Tehran and Washington. He described the breakthrough as a moment of national pride and evidence of Pakistan’s capacity to act as a credible, responsible stakeholder in international affairs.

Ayaz Sadiq congratulated Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their leadership and contribution to the effort. He also commended the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistan’s diplomatic corps for steady engagement throughout the process.

The Speaker specifically acknowledged the roles of Interior Minister Senator Mohsin Naqvi, National Security Adviser General Asim Malik, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, and the wider Foreign Office team for professionalism and effective coordination that supported the initiative.

Highlighting the close cooperation between civilian and military leadership, Ayaz Sadiq said the success of this diplomatic initiative reflected Pakistan’s long-held preference for resolving disputes through dialogue rather than confrontation, and he noted its contribution to lowering tensions that threatened international peace and security.

Welcoming Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam and his delegation to Parliament, the Speaker congratulated both Iran and the United States on reported progress and expressed hope that the ongoing process will yield a durable peace agreement promoting stability, prosperity, and mutual understanding across the region.

He also thanked friendly countries that supported Pakistan’s peace efforts and prayed for a successful conclusion to a lasting Iran-US accord, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to advancing peace, stability, and constructive dialogue on the global stage through continued Pakistan diplomacy.
