PAF and UAE Strengthen Defence Cooperation and Joint Training

Major General Humaid Mohammed Abdullah Alremeithi, Commander of the UAE Naval Forces, met with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, at Air Headquarters in Islamabad to discuss deepening defence cooperation, joint training initiatives and responses to evolving regional security dynamics.
The two leaders reviewed the strategic environment in the region and explored new avenues for military-to-military engagement. Both sides emphasized the importance of closer coordination and interoperability to address shared security challenges.
Air Chief Marshal Sidhu outlined his vision to transform the Pakistan Air Force into a modern, agile and technology-driven service. He highlighted ongoing upgrade programs across cyber, space, artificial intelligence, electronic warfare and aerospace domains, and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to expanding bilateral military cooperation, particularly in training and joint operational exercises.
Major General Alremeithi praised the PAF’s indigenization efforts, noting the service’s robust framework, homegrown capabilities and technological progress that have contributed to its operational readiness. He expressed the UAE’s interest in drawing on Pakistan’s operational experience in multi-domain warfare, describing the PAF’s tested frameworks and combat-proven doctrine as valuable to regional and international partners.
The UAE commander stressed a strong desire to conduct joint exercises and increase mutual learning to enhance operational synergy and interoperability. He also conveyed eagerness for participation by the UAE Air Force in training activities hosted in Pakistan as a means of further strengthening ties between the two countries.
The meeting underscored both nations’ armed forces’ commitment to work together on common challenges and to consolidate bilateral defence and military cooperation.
